As the Bihar Assembly elections draw closer, the opposition alliance Mahagathbandhan released its much-awaited joint manifesto in Patna on Monday. The event, which was expected to feature top leaders from the coalition, saw the notable absence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, sparking speculation about internal coordination within the alliance.
The manifesto focuses on issues like employment generation, farmer welfare, women’s empowerment, and social justice, aiming to counter the ruling NDA’s governance narrative. Leaders from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and Left parties jointly unveiled the document, pledging a “people-centric government” if voted to power. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav emphasized that the alliance’s priority would be providing jobs to Bihar’s youth and improving public education and healthcare systems.

The Mahagathbandhan’s manifesto promises to fill 20 lakh government vacancies, waive farm loans, and ensure better infrastructure development. It also highlights the need for social harmony and inclusive growth, contrasting sharply with the NDA’s focus on law and order and central welfare schemes.
With both alliances intensifying their campaigns, Bihar’s political landscape is heating up. The Mahagathbandhan hopes its promises and grassroots connect will resonate with voters, while the BJP-led NDA remains confident in its governance record. As the countdown to polling begins, all eyes are now on how the opposition’s unity and Rahul Gandhi’s participation shape the state’s high-stakes electoral battle.
